Let\u2019s dive in!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"First_who_can_take_the_USMLE_Step_2_CK_Exam\"><\/span>First, who can take the USMLE Step 2 CK Exam?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a US citizen, you\u2019re eligible for USMLE Step 2 CK exams if you\u2019re a student enrolled in, or graduate of, a US or Canadian medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an international student or graduate, you need the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG) certification first. Just as with Step 1, make sure you meet all the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfmg.org\/certification\/eligibility-for-examination.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eligibility requirements<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible for the Step 2 CK exam as an international student, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be officially enrolled in a non-US medical school listed in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wdoms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Directory of Medical Schools<\/a>, as meeting eligibility requirements (including on test day)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get authorized by a school official via a certification of your enrollment status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete at least two years of school, which should include the basic medical science component of your curriculum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible for Step 2 CK as an international graduate, you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have graduated from a school located outside the US and Canada that is listed in the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wdoms.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Directory of Medical Schools<\/a>&nbsp;as meeting eligibility requirements (including on test day)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have been awarded credit for at least four academic years (for which credit was necessary to complete the curriculum) by the school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get authorized by an official of your school via a certification of your graduation status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You must also fulfill any other mandated&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfmg.org\/forms\/certfact.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ECFMG\u00ae criteria<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Step_2_CK_Exam_Dates_in_2021\"><\/span>Step 2 CK Exam Dates in 2021&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.osmosis.org\/blog\/2020\/06\/11\/your-usmle-step-2-ck-questions-answered-the-osmosis-ultimate-guide\">While US students have to take the Step 2 CK in their fourth year to graduate after passing the Step 1 exam, international students and graduates take the USMLE tests after getting an ECFMG certification first.<\/a>&nbsp;However, they can take Steps 1 and 2 in any order they want. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmle.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USMLE<\/a>, the Step 2 CK exam dates in 2021 are not decided yet, but the examination period is between early July through late August. You need a computer, an e-mail address, and the above, as well as an acceptable payment method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Step 2 CK application consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The online part, where you need to provide specific information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student or graduate status verification by your medical school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any relevant documents, as specified in the IWA and the ECFMG Information Booklet. &nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can find all the details regarding the requirements&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iwa2.ecfmg.org\/overview.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_and_when_to_schedule_your_USMLE_Step_2_CK_test\"><\/span>How and when to schedule your USMLE Step 2 CK test?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, \u201ctemporary expansion of Step 1, 2 CK and 3 testing at medical schools was completed on Sept. 10, 2020\u201d, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/covid.usmle.org\/announcements\/resources-find-information-testing-appointments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USMLE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This means that eligibility intervals with a start date between Sept 1, 2020, and March 1, 2021, were automatically extended to end on June 30, 2021. Eligibility periods with a start date on or after April 1, 2021, the standard three-month eligibility will be applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you didn\u2019t get to schedule a date, first, you have to apply for a three-month eligibility period via the ECFMG\u2019s Interactive Web Applications, during which you can take it (not on major holidays). Then, you can set a date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each period has several available dates you can select from. However, slots fill up quickly, so it\u2019s best to apply as soon as possible (find out more&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/covid.usmle.org\/announcements\/resources-find-information-testing-appointments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fees_and_Costs\"><\/span>Fees and Costs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For students and graduates of medical schools in the US and Canada, the application fees are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$645, for eligibility periods beginning Sept. 1, 2020&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$70, for eligibility period extension&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmle.org\/apply\/rescheduling-fees.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescheduling fee<\/a>&nbsp;of $50 or higher.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For international students and graduates,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfmg.org\/fees\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the fees<\/a>&nbsp;are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Application for ECFMG Certification: $150<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step 2 CK examination fee: $975 + International Test Delivery Surcharge of $200, if testing takes place outside the US and Canada<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extension of eligibility period: $90 per exam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmle.org\/apply\/rescheduling-fees.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rescheduling fee<\/a>&nbsp;of $50 or higher<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecfmg.org\/fees\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Other fees for additional services<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"When_will_you_get_your_USMLE_Step_2_CK_exam_results\"><\/span>When will you get your USMLE Step 2 CK exam results?&nbsp;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that you\u2019re ready for the Step 2 exam, you\u2019re probably wondering when you will get the scores.
