Get a Head Start on Your Course Material<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Try to stay ahead of the game before you even have a lecture. <strong>Read the chapters or watch videos<\/strong> and get familiar with the content\u2014whatever the preparation looks like, it\u2019s important to do it <strong>ahead of time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason is that it\u2019s really hard to catch up with the study in nursing school, as there\u2019s a lot of ground to cover, and it goes by fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the material you\u2019ll learn is easier to understand than others, and that\u2019s OK. <strong>Putting in the work ahead of a lecture<\/strong> is the most important part, as you teach your brain to set the right foundation for gaining knowledge. Besides being much easier, it\u2019s also an <strong>efficient way to understand the information<\/strong> (rather than memorizing it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Start with the topic you want to learn about and, first, build on it with what you learned. When you stumble upon your <strong>learning objectives (LOs),<\/strong> paying attention to them is one smart way to study in nursing school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although it seems just like a list, <strong>LOs act much like your guide to studying<\/strong> because they outline exactly what you should be able to do or competently discuss after successfully learning about them. This means one that is <strong>realistic and adjusted<\/strong> to your life, your time, and your responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There\u2019s no standard timeframe for the best learning, so the key here is to focus on <strong>quality rather than quantity.<\/strong> If your daily schedule allows you to study for nursing school two hours in the morning or three hours in the evening, both are fine as long as it\u2019s according to your <strong>real attention span.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another important thing here is to make sure you can stay <strong>committed to your schedule<\/strong> for studying just as you commit to other obligations in life in a practical way. This will keep you <strong>accountable<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Teamwork_Makes_the_Dream_Work\"><\/span>5. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking of accountability, another tip on <strong>how to study for nursing school<\/strong> the better way is to <strong>find a study partner:<\/strong> a friend, a tutor, or joining a <strong>study group<\/strong> to keep you connected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The best thing about study groups is that you can <strong>listen to different perspectives<\/strong> while discussing a topic.
