Adrenal cortical carcinoma
Summary of Adrenal cortical carcinoma
An adrenocortical carcinoma is a rare and frequently aggressive tumor of the adrenal cortex. Adrenocortical carcinomas are more likely to be functional than adrenal adenomas. Depending on the hormone being overproduced, they may cause Cushing's syndrome, virilization, or Conn syndrome. Adrenocortical carcinomas may also be nonfunctional and present as an incidental abdominal mass.
