Disease surveillance

Summary of Disease surveillance
Disease surveillance is used to monitor the risk factors of a disease, including environmental, as well as changes in disease incidence and prevalence. It can be either passive surveillance, in which the health care provider or district health officer reports the disease occurrence, or active surveillance, in which staff are hired specifically to report the disease occurrence.
