Summary
An epidural abscess is a collection of pus that forms between the surface of the dura mater and the skull. It can also be referring to an abscess in the epidural space of the spinal cord. Symptoms vary depending on its location, but generally include fever, headache, focal neurological deficit, and seizures. Diagnosis is often made with a computed tomography (CT) scan.
