Summary

Fetal hydantoin syndrome is a rare disorder in babies whose mothers took the anticonvulsant drug, mainly phenytoin or carbamazepine during pregnancy.

Symptoms of fetal hydantoin syndrome include developmental delays, intellectual disability, and seizures. Affected babies may also have distinctive facial features, such as a broad forehead, low-set ears, and a short nose.
