Hantavirus is a single-stranded RNA virus, which belongs to the Bunyavirales order. Hantavirus can infect humans, with the main reservoirs being rodents. In humans, hantavirus can cause fever, muscle pain, and respiratory problems. In some cases, hantavirus can lead to potentially fatal conditions such as hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS), or hantavirus-induced hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
