Summary

Hemianopsia is a type of blindness that affects one-half of the visual field from the vertical midline. Homonymous hemianopsia involves visual field loss on the same side of both eyes. Several things can cause homonymous hemianopsia; these include stroke, brain tumors, or traumatic brain injury. It can also be caused by problems with the eye itself, such as glaucoma or detached retina.
