IgG subclass deficiency is a disorder that results in a reduced level of one or more of the IgG subclasses. IgG is the main class of antibodies found in blood and is important for fighting against numerous types of infection.
People with this disorder may have difficulty fighting off infections and can also be at risk for developing other health problems. Some people with this disorder may need treatment, such as prophylactic antibiotics and long-term Ig replacement therapy.
