Summary of Impetigo
Impetigo is a contagious bacterial skin infection most commonly due to Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes that usually occurs among preschool children. Lesions usually manifest as pustules that rupture, resulting in a brown, "honey-crusted" appearance.
