Summary
Learning is the process of acquiring new or modifying and retaining existing knowledge, behaviors, skills, values, or preferences. It occurs through active engagement with life experiences and/or through instruction and social interaction.
There are many different ways to learn, including but not limited to: reading, writing, listening, speaking, observing, and participating. The most effective way to learn depends on the person and the situation. Some people prefer hands-on learning while others prefer classroom learning. Some people are more visual learners while others are more auditory learners.
