Summary
Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a medical condition primarily seen in premature infants, where portions of the bowel undergo necrosis. Symptoms of NEC may include abdominal swelling, vomiting, diarrhea, feeding intolerance, rectal bleeding, and a lack of bowel movements.
