A 25-year-old woman is in the emergency department following a skateboarding accident. The patient was jumping down a flight of stairs when she lost control and fell onto concrete without wearing a helmet. She had a brief loss of consciousness following the accident. The patient reports nausea,  headache and has vomited twice during the last 30 minutes. Her past medical history is insignificant, and she does not take any medications. The patient does not use tobacco, alcohol, or illicit drugs. Temperature is 37°C (98.6°F), her pulse is 50/min, respirations are 10/min, and her blood pressure is 160/90 mm Hg. The patient is oriented to person, place, and time on physical examination. Lungs are clear to auscultation bilaterally. Cardiac examination shows bradycardia, but no abnormal heart sounds. The abdomen is soft and nontender. There is a bruise in the left temporal region. A non-contrast head CT is shown.
