A 52-year-old woman comes to the physician's office due to suspicious findings seen on a routine mammogram. She recalls no recent trauma or breast surgery. She is a gymnastics teacher and regularly engages in intense workout regimens. The patient’s first mammogram 2 years ago was normal. Medical history is unremarkable except hypertension treated with hydrochlorothiazide. Family history is significant for breast cancer in her mother diagnosed at age 64.
