A 38-year-old woman comes to her outpatient provider because of facial muscle weakness that began about four months ago. She reports having intermittent episodes of drooping of eyelids and difficulty chewing food, which usually happen in the evenings and resolve the subsequent morning. Past medical history is notable for hypertension. She takes amlodipine. Social history is notable for a 20-pack-year smoking history. Family history is notable for systemic lupus erythematosus in her older sister. In the office, her temperature is 37.7°C (99.9°F), pulse is 72/min, and blood pressure is 146/80 mmHg. On physical examination, the patient is observed to have drooping of the left eyelid and impaired adduction of the right eye. The findings appear to be exacerbated by repeated muscle use. Antibodies against which of the following components will most likely be seen in this patient?
