A 40-year-old man comes to the emergency department to evaluate right arm swelling and pain. The patient also reports fever, chills, and rigors. The patient has a past medical history of depression, for which he takes escitalopram. Temperature is 37.8°C (100°F), pulse is 94/min, respirations are 15/min, and blood pressure is 110/70 mmHg.
