A 2-year-old boy is brought to the physician’s office by his parents due to persistent crying and abdominal bloating. His parents noticed the patient’s abdomen appears swollen, and they think that he cries due to abdominal pain. They have tried to change his diet without relief. There is no history of recent infection, sick contacts or change in the color of his stool. The patient was born at term through normal vaginal birth and delivery. At birth, the patient was diagnosed with a right eye condition, but his parents can’t remember the name. His parents report that the patient does not yet smile at them or say “mama” or “dada,” and he mainly bables. The child can grasp toys with both hands but is unable to stand or walk. The results of the right eye examination are shown below.
