Osmosis Clinical Sciences Physician Assistant Platform Tour

Hi, everyone. My name is Maddie Cain and I'm the Senior Director of Medical Education here at Osmosis from Sevier.

I'm excited to announce the launch of Osmosis's new Clinical Sciences Series. The Clinical Sciences collection includes new visually engaging videos, clinical decision making trees and linked boards, style assessment items that cover the core rotations beginning with general surgery and internal medicine.

This new content is aligned to the pa ea end of rotation exam and NCCP A pants blueprints based on the latest clinical guidelines and expertly scope for the first time clinical learner to help students think clinically from day one to patient one and beyond.

Now, let's take a look at how this new content fits into the osmosis platform, you know, and love. We're currently on the Osmosis home page where you'll see the search bar in the center for easy keyword searches to the appropriate learn pages.

If you select view all topics, you can see all of the topics are content covers, looking at the entire osmosis library, you'll first see our Basic Sciences collection, including foundational sciences and organ systems.

To the right. You'll see our new Clinical Sciences collection including clinical rotations and pants review.

You'll also see that we have these new labels that indicate that new learn pages have been launched for in general surgery and internal medicine.

And I'm gonna click into internal medicine. I'm now in internal medicine where you can see a number of different modules that students can select from.

At the very top, we can see the different diagnoses. And I'm gonna scroll down to the clinical conditions and go to chest pain at the top.

You can see approach to chest pain, which describes the process of approaching a patient with chest pain from the acute management and work up to the differential diagnosis.

Really focusing on the lifethreatening and major causes and then going into the correct diagnosis using the history, physical examination and diagnostic investigations underneath.

You will see the different disease category videos which focus on the definition, pathophysiology, history and physical examination findings with a large focus on the diagnosis and clinical management.

At the very end, you can also see an end of rotation exam review section which is all aligned to the P EA end of rotation exam review topic blueprint.

I'm now gonna click into a learn page. I'm now on a learn page where you can see the classic osmosis learn page features that we all know and love including the whiteboard style video with options for close captioning adjustment of the playback rate, ability to share videos, record notes that are time stamped.

The video ability to read the transcript and of course the paired assessment items for this clinical sciences content specifically, let's take a look at the new edition starting with the decision making trees, decisionmaking trees are used to organize this information so it can be used in clinical decision making.

Once again, they're based on the latest clinical guidelines but are expertly scoped for the first time clinical learner and contain the details that a student would need to know on their clinical rotations.

The video takes the student through the decision making tree with added explanations, high yield facts and clinical pearls.

The assessment items you can see are brand new pants style assessment items that are aligned to each video to reinforce learning and help students prepare for their end of rotation and pants exams.

You can also see externally linked evidence-based guidelines. So learners can explore more in depth.

And finally, there are learning objectives on each learn page to help keep students on track and to help faculty know what's covered in each video.

If we go back to the main library, you can also see the Pants review section. This content is organized by organ system and aligned to the NCCP A pants blueprint.

And I'm gonna click into cardiovascular system. You can see once again that all of this content is aligned to the NCCP A pants blueprint including applying basic scientific concepts, diagnosis and clinical intervention with our new clinical sciences videos as well as pharmaceutical therapeutics.
