Third-year medical student explains how to set up an Osmosis Study Schedule
Definitions & Key takeaways
Hi, my name is Greg Wu and I'm currently a third year medical student at Ross University. And today I'm going to give you my best tips and tricks on how I navigated the osmosis step one schedule.
So to begin, this is where you should be landing. Now, the most important thing about the Osmy step one schedule is that you have to make it for yourself.
You have to customize it to fit your needs and you have to own the schedule or else it'll be difficult to follow. So to do that, I would recommend you go to settings and when you click settings, the first thing that should come up is the topics you wanna cover.
Um If this is your dedicated study time, I recommend you covering all the topics, your resources. So whether you wanna do osmosis videos, flash cards, questions and what kind of resources you wanna use personally.
I believe that you should limit your resources. You don't wanna have too many resources uh or else you're gonna get overwhelmed.
So for me, I use boards and beyond videos which osmosis recently added to the step one schedule. I use first aid for sure.
I've used the most updated version. I use Sketchy Micro.
I also use sketchy farm and I use Patho. Now, the next thing you want to think about is your days off.
This depends on how long you want to study for step one, for me. For the first half of my step one dedicated period.
I took weekends off um every weekend. Uh and then towards the later half of my schedule, I started picking the pace up and I started having study days on the weekends, which is uh what is so special osmosis.
It allows for flexibility, going back to your schedule. I know that this might seem overwhelming um with this, all these tasks.
So I would narrow it down um to what you have to do for that one day. Now, everyone's day is different depending on how long your dedicated study period is.
But osmosis does a good job of telling you your exact assignments for that day. Now, the beautiful thing about this osmosis schedule is that you can drag and drop items.
So say that you're falling behind on, on one of the days and you want to accomplish that task. One of the things that you can do is you can drag and drop that task from one day to another.
So that if you don't finish it this day, you can assign it for another day. And that's another way that osmosis allows you to be flexible.
It's important to allow yourself when you're going through the schedule to number one stick to the plan. Um, because there will be times where all get overwhelming and tough.
But I'm here to tell you that it's possible and that if you, as long as you stick to it and have a good attitude and have a good, um, support network that this schedule will be enough to have you learn everything you need to know and to keep you on track for step one studying.
I would also recommend that you would do um space repetition in the top right corner. There's a way to do space repetition.
You know, the flash cards that you do every day at night. And when you're just at the gym, when you're waiting in line for something or you're shopping and you just have your phone out, you can just do some flash cards and just keep doing space repetition to reinforce all the facts into your mind.
And lastly have fun with the schedule. You know, osmosis has done a lot to improve the schedule, um and take it day by day and don't be discouraged if you do fall behind because it is ok to move things around.
I think I changed my schedule about 1015 times to adjust to what I needed to do. And I would recommend the same for you.
So these are my best tips and my tricks and I recommend you do whatever it takes to uh make the schedule a fit for you to incorporate your own resources and to have fun with it.
