Video Summary

An ecologic study is an observational study that examines the relationships between environmental exposures and health outcomes at the population level. This type of study can be used to identify potential risk factors for disease, but it cannot determine whether or not these risk factors actually cause disease. Ecologic studies are also limited by the fact that they cannot account for individual differences in exposure and susceptibility.
