Ali Syed (HBSc, PharmD, RPh) is a Clinical Pharmacist who graduated from Waterloo School of Pharmacy in 2018. Prior to that, he obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences at McMaster University in 2014. During his time at Waterloo, Ali was drawn to hospital pharmacy practice and obtained experiential education opportunities in a wide range of pediatric clinical areas, including emergency, general medicine, hematology, oncology, infectious diseases, surgery, complex care, and neonatal intensive care. He also worked in adult clinical areas, including women’s health, internal medicine, various nephrology specialties, and community pharmacy. Ali Syed is an Osmosis Faculty Reviewer, and his goals here involve using his knowledge of various disease states and their therapeutics as well as his direct clinical experience with patients to help shape pharmacological content to ensure that concepts are therapeutically accurate and easy to understand for students. Having been a professional student not very long ago, Ali understands the daily struggles and takes great pride in being able to be a part of the process in making studying a seamless and wonderful experience for them. Ali’s future goals involve continuing to provide direct patient care in a hospital environment and teaching at the University level. During his free time, Ali enjoys interior designing, renovation planning, gardening, catching up on TV shows, and trying out new foods!
