In this week’s Ask-a-Nurse column, Nurse Liz advises nursing students to join a society or network related to their specialty while enrolled in a nursing program.
Welcome back to the Osmosis Ask-a-Nurse column! One learner asked, “What are the best resources for oncology nursing?”
Many nursing specialties, including oncology, have a society or a network associated with them, like the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). These societies often provide access to publications, courses, conferences, networking, and even job opportunities. And nursing school is a great time to join because discounted or even free memberships are sometimes available to students!
