## Summary of Normal distribution and z-scores

Normal distribution and z-scores

Normal Gaussian curves represent the occurrence of many natural phenomena. They have a symmetrical bell shaped curve and the same mean, median, and mode. 68%, 95%, and 99% of the data lies within one, two, and three standard deviations from the mean, respectively. Z-score indicates the number of standard deviations between a certain value and the mean but it can not be calculated in asymmetrical non-Gaussian curves.
