Maria Pfrommer, Ph.D., DNP, FNP-BC, RN
Director of Education
Maria Pfrommer, DNP, PhD, FNP-BC, RN, is Director of Education at Osmosis from Elsevier, where she leads nursing and medical education teams producing Osmosis videos and ancillary content. A curriculum mapping specialist, she aligns content to nursing competencies. She earned her DNP from Duke University, a PhD in Post-Secondary Education from Capella University, and an MSN (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Thomas Jefferson University. A board-certified family nurse practitioner, Maria retired as professor and Director of the DNP and NP programs at Saint Joseph's University, after administrative and teaching roles at every level of nursing education, from LPN to DNP. An Elsevier subject matter expert since 2005, she has contributed to HESI, Sherpath, and Evolve; her doctoral research examined HESI remediation and NCLEX success. Her recent work centers on teaching AI literacy. After completing Rockborne's train-the-trainer course, she now leads AI literacy training. She also developed the AI Cares model, presented on flipped simulation at the 2026 International Simulation Conference, hosts Raise the Line podcast episodes, and has a forthcoming Heart Assisted Therapy case-study publication with John H. Diepold Jr. Maria lives in Moorestown, NJ, and enjoys photography, family time at the Jersey Shore, bowling, and learning to golf.
