Marina Horiates Kerekes, MD

Director of Medical Assessment

Dr. Marina Horiates Kerekes is the Director of Medical Assessment at Osmosis, overseeing the development of all assessment items in the Osmosis medical education products and managing her team of question writers, editors, copy-editors, admins, and faculty reviewers. In addition, she also leads innovation projects across the Elsevier Global Medical Education (GME) suite, including the Osmosis content integration with Clinical Key Student, the update and maintenance of the Osmosis inclusive language guide, and a pilot for the use of generative AI in board-style question creation. Marina also consults as a medical content expert on product and technology projects like the retirement of old content series, the update to the Osmosis Study Schedule, optimizing the user experience in the free trial period, the creation of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) content for osteopathic medical students, and the organization of supplementary resources in Complete Anatomy. Marina has delivered webinars for learners and faculty across the world on topics ranging from unconscious bias, patient advocacy, preparation for the medical board exams, test anxiety, nonclinical careers for physicians, and the importance of inclusive language in medical documentation. She also serves on the Learning Design Guild and is a member of the Inclusive Language team for the Global Content Partners (GCP) Inclusion & Diversity Champions Network. She earned her medical doctorate from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her bachelor's degree in English Language & Literature from Yale University. Born and raised in Dallas, TX, she currently lives on the east coast with her husband, her adorable dog and cat, and her (color-coded) collection of books.
