Jozia McGowan, DO

Józia McGowan, DO, FACOI, CS, FNAOME is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician. She graduated from Kansas City University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009 and completed her IM residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Dr. McGowan initially practiced outpatient Internal Medicine and then transitioned to a clinical faculty appointment and administrative position at KCU-COM, for 7.5 years, where she was the Curriculum Phase II Director- KC which transitioned to Director of COM Student Success. Currently, Dr. McGowan resides in Florida while her husband finishes a 1-year Forensic Pathology Fellowship. During this time, she is a remote independent contractor with Osmosis from Elsevier, started in 2021, as a Faculty Reviewer and a Clinical Content Writer. Additionally, she is a remote contractor with KCU-COM, helping their off-cycle students, as a Student Success Advisor. Dr. McGowan was inducted as a fellow in the ACOI in 2015 (FACOI), become a Costin Scholar (CS) in 2018 through Midwestern University’s, and was inducted into AACOM’s National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators as a fellow (FNAOME) in the category of Teaching and Evaluation in 2021. She received the Advocate for Academic Excellence award and was inducted into and is previous faculty chair of The Gold Humanism Honor Society at KCU. She enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and pets (two dogs [Shadow and Brody] and one cat [Jasper]).
