Summary of Cerebellum
The cerebellum receives information from the body, motor cortex, and vestibular nuclei to help fine tune movements and control posture. The different divisions of the cerebellum are dominated by different inputs and outputs; for example the vestibulocerebellum controls balance and eye movements so injury to this area could result in nystagmus while injury to the pontocerebellum could result in difficulty initiating or planning movements.
