To catch you up on the latest updates, we spent 2025 adding new learning content to Osmosis, making key platform improvements, and developing tools designed to support our learners. December updates included a variety of Study Schedule enhancements, including new badges for milestones like creating a schedule and completing tasks on time. Learners can also turn playlists into Study Schedules, while faculty can assign schedules and learners can share them with classmates.
January 2026: DO Content Updates for COMLEX-USA Blueprint
We updated our DO content to align with the NBOME’s 2025 shift to the COMLEX-USA Blueprint, ensuring learners preparing for COMLEX-USA exams have access to material that reflects the latest changes.
February 2026: The MD Release of Osmosis AI
We overjoyed to introduced Osmosis AI, our new conversational study companion built directly into the Osmosis platform to help our learners review topics, explore concepts, and find relevant learning resources within the Osmosis platform.

April 2026: Osmosis AI Expands to DO, PA, and Health Professions Products & Helps You Prepare Flashcards
April ushered in an expansion of Osmosis AI to support other health professions learners, including DO, PA, and Health Professionals. Osmosis AI is the new, built-in Osmosis study companion that combines trusted Elsevier content, conversational AI, and Osmosis’ visual learning approach to help our learners can ask questions and get answers without leaving their workflow.

May 2026: Release of Osmosis Nursing Practice Readiness Series
Osmosis has added a new Nursing Practice Readiness Series! This new collection of foundational nursing videos is designed to support nursing students developing their clinical judgment, professional identity, and effective learning strategies for real-world nursing practice. The new series focuses on essential, cross-cutting skills that go beyond memorization, including prioritization, patient safety, study strategies, and understanding how nursing is practiced across care settings.
Content includes:
- Nursing Student Success: study techniques, note-taking, test-taking strategies, and clinical preparedness
- Clinical Decision Making (RN-focused): nursing process, clinical judgment, prioritization, safety, and core patient-care frameworks
- Role of the Nurse: care delivery across hospitals, clinics, long-term care, home health, mental health, and community settings

June 2026: Expanded PA Learning Resources, Plus Osmosis AI on Mobile
PA-Specific Content Now Available in Osmosis AI
Physician Assistant (PA) learners now have access to a dedicated PA-specific book set in Osmosis AI, replacing the general medical content previously available. The new collection includes resources covering foundational PA practice, clinical reasoning, procedural skills, specialty topics, professional competencies, and board exam preparation.
By delivering content tailored to PA curricula and clinical training, Osmosis AI provides a more relevant learning experience that better supports students throughout their didactic and clinical education.
Turn Every Paused Video into an AI-Powered Learning Moment
Osmosis AI is now integrated into the video learning experience. When Osmosis learners pause a video, they’ll see context-aware AI prompts tailored to the topic they’re watching, such as “Explain this simply,” “Summarize high-yield points,” or “Quiz me with board-style questions.” With one click, they can start an AI conversation grounded in the video content without leaving the lesson.
This update helps learners turn moments of curiosity into deeper understanding, making it easier to reinforce concepts, check comprehension, and stay engaged throughout their study sessions.
Take Osmosis AI Anywhere with New Mobile App Access
Osmosis AI is now available in the Osmosis iOS and Android apps, giving learners access to AI-powered, evidence-based answers wherever they study. Available from both the homepage and Learn page, the mobile experience brings the same conversational AI available on the web directly to learners’ phones.
Whether studying during a commute, between clinical rotations, or away from a computer, learners can now seamlessly access Osmosis AI on the go. The feature is available to all eligible MD, DO, OH, and PA learners across both individual and institutional accounts.
July 2026: Trust Every Osmosis AI Answer with Inline and Textbook Citations
Verify Osmosis AI Answers with Textbook Citations
Osmosis AI now makes it easier to trust and verify Osmosis AI answers with clickable citations that open directly to the relevant excerpt from the sourced Elsevier textbook. Instead of static references, you can instantly view the supporting content without having to leave the platform. By linking every AI response to the exact textbook passage that supports it, learners can validate information, explore concepts in greater depth, and study with greater confidence, increasing transparency while keeping your learning experience seamless within Osmosis AI.
Inline Citations Make AI Answers Easier to Verify
Osmosis AI now includes inline citation markers alongside the claims they support, making it easier for learners to see exactly where the information comes from. With a single click, you can jump directly to the supporting source in the evidence panel without searching through a list of references. By connecting every claim to its source, it’s significantly easier to validate answers and reinforce the evidence-based learning experience learners expect from Osmosis. This update also aligns the citation experience with academic publishing conventions and Elsevier’s AI Trust Standard for transparent, trustworthy AI.
August 2026: Building Clinical Reasoning Using Tutor Mode and Osmosis AI
Osmosis aI Tutor Mode for Guided Learning
Getting the right answer is helpful, but learning how to think through a problem is what builds lasting clinical reasoning. That’s why we’ve introduced Tutor Mode in Osmosis AI. In Tutor Mode, Osmosis AI guides students through concepts using a Socratic approach. Instead of immediately providing answers, it asks questions, identifies knowledge gaps, reinforces key concepts with trusted Elsevier content, and helps students work toward the correct reasoning step by step. Students can use Osmosis aI Tutor Mode to prepare for exams, strengthen difficult concepts, or build understanding from the ground up, all within the same AI conversation.

New semester, new syllabus, new study plan. With the Osmosis Syllabus Parser, now in Beta, Osmosis can help you get organized for the academic year without building your Study Schedule from scratch. Simply upload your PDF or DOCX course syllabus, and Osmosis will identify key topics, match them to relevant Osmosis content, and add them to a draft Study Schedule. Review the suggestions, add or remove topics, and create a plan that reflects exactly what you need to learn. Using this new feature means less time organizing your study plan and more time learning from day one. And because the Syllabus Parser is in Beta, your feedback will help us make it even better as we continue to improve topic identification and content matching!
